Dominique Barrera Biography

Dominique is a third generation Conch, born in Key West at the Monroe County Hospital in the early 60’s. Her father worked for the Navy and when she was eight years old, he accepted a job transfer and moved the family to Naples, Italy for five years; five very enlightening years. While overseas, Dominique’s mother realized her love of travel and hauled the family all over Europe. The languages... food... people... it was all fascinating and left a lasting impression.

After returning to the states and graduating from Key West High School, Dominique tried different jobs and lots of travel. She worked as a library book cataloguer in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and as a commercial diver in Guam.

Now she is a Florida licensed massage therapist, as well as a licensed Florida Realtor and enjoys working in both professions. The natural beauty of the island, combined with the fascinating history and incredible architecture has long been a draw for many people. Dominique is no exception. She takes pride in being a Conch and feels blessed to live and work in such an exceptional community.
